Port Shepstone Country Club

This is one of the most popular golf courses on the South Coast because of the picturesque setting, the vibrant bird and wild life but also because it provides seemingly different challenges every time it is played.  

If you don’t know the course you can easily be fooled into thinking you are in for a deceptively easy round of golf at first glance, but don’t make the mistake of underestimating the level of difficulty.  On a windy day the course rating can go up by 2 strokes!  Contend with the mighty uMzimkulu River that borders this course, wind from the sea side, mangroves, large trees, water features, bridges and several new bunkers and you are in for an exciting round of golf.

The first nine holes are framed with stately indigenous trees, mangroves and bush and are judged to be the most appealing section due to how scenic it is.  The second nine holes, that are more like a links type course, are open, have a number of water hazards but the real challenge is the wind.

At the Port Shepstone Golf Club you can expect a well kept and stimulating course that is geared for regular competitions and championships.  The facilities are excellent and the views and wildlife provide a remarkable backdrop for an unforgettable round.   Do book in advance to ensure your tee off time as playing this course is an experience you don’t want to miss.
