Lake Eland Game Reserve

in the Oribi Gorge area

Lake Eland Game Reserve is a short 40 kilometers drive from Port Shepstone and is perfect for a day visit, longer stays, conferences, team building or even a wedding in the rustic chapel.

What makes it special?

Simply put;  it is much more than just a Game Reserve.

This 2500 hectare, well managed reserve consists of a combination of several ecosystems such as sweeping grasslands intersected with coastal forests and wetlands sprinkled with bushveld areas.

The (self or guided) game drives are scenic, the animals we managed to spot are relaxed and in excellent condition and the peacefulness surrounding us was all encompassing.

Want more than game drives and tranquility?

This is where the Lake Eland Reserve really steps up to the plate and distinguish themselves from other reserves.  There are 4×4 routes to try out, hiking and mountain biking routes, horse riding opportunities, paintball, fishing, camping, team building, conference facilities and even a rustic chapel to get married in.

To top this all off, the 4,5 kilometer zip line is perfect for the adventurous and the not so adventurous.  The 80 meter suspension bridge is an adventure in itself and then there are the caves to explore.

Bring your own picnic or braai (barbecue) or enjoy an excellent meal in the fully licensed restaurant or have a snack in the tea garden.  The kids play area is well thought out and will have your little (and not so little) ones having fun in no time.

Accommodation and camping areas are also on offer.
