Winkelspruit Beach is the kind of holiday destination where you’ll find yourself returning year after year. It still has a small town atmosphere where a family will feel safe and welcome. It is peaceful, the scenery is the epitome of the perfect holiday spot and the locals are down to earth and friendly.

Have a bite to eat in the upstairs restaurant, take a dip in the sea or in one of the swimming pools, play in the shallow waters of the small river on the left of the beach or put your beach umbrella up and relax the day away. Don’t forget sun protection!

Access to the beach

There are several ways to access this beach. Use the short walkway ending in steps that ends at the beach’s edge or use the steps in front of the buildings. You can also walk directly onto the beach from the parking area on the swimming pools’ side.

The swimming pools

The Winkelspruit Beach can broadly be divided in two ‘to-do’ sections. The first is the beach itself and the second is the area where the swimming pools is situated.

To the right of the swimming beach a rocky outcrop houses the pools. The pools were cool and inviting looking on the day we visited. For those of you who like exploring and climbing rocks the rocky area surrounding the pools offers plenty of opportunity for small adventures. It is also a great place to sit and enjoy the gorgeous views.

Parking

There are two parking areas at this beach. It can become very busy during the height of the holiday season due to the popularity of the beach. Be there early if you want a good spot. The one parking area is next to the beach. The second parking area is close to the swimming pools and even offers a bit of shade for your car on a hot day.
