Scottburgh Beach, a stunning Blue Flag Beach, offers a range of activities to entertain from the youngest to the oldest visitor. Note too that there is now a ramp for easier access to the beach. 

About 45 minutes south of Durban, Scottburgh Beach is the next major beach south of Winkelspruit and comes before Park Rynie Beach.  The perfect stop-over on your exploration of the KZN South Coast. 

Besides taking a dip in the warm ocean waters and relaxing while working on your tan, there are plenty of other things to do:

  • Swim in the tidal pools
  • Swim or canoe in the lagoon
  • Have fun at the super tube
  • Play a round of put-put
  • Try abseiling or orbing
  • Surf or bodyboard the perfect waves
  • Cast your fishing line from the rocks or the shore to catch your dinner?

We also have to mention that the sunrise from the grass terrace can be spectacular! Definitely worth the early wake-up.

There are a few nearby restaurants, take-away places, and bars to satisfy your appetite and cool yourself down. Explore the surf and beach wear shops, or get a few items to take home as a reminder of your time here from the curio shops.

The Swimming Pools at Scottburgh Beach

There are two large swimming pools that have spectacular views as a backdrop.  The first pool is shallow and ideal for smaller children. The second pool is deeper (hip height) and perfect for older kids and adults alike who want to splash around.

Parking

The parking area for this great beach is large and offers plenty of space to park your vehicle. There is additional parking if you turn to the right when you reach the parking area by the beach and continue down Marine Terrace.
